Grand Prairie, TX – Alan Wayne Goehrig, 60, passed away Friday, December 20, 2013 at Arlington Memorial Hospital, surrounded by his family. He is survived by his wife Kimberly, his four sons, four grandchildren and family.
Alan was born and raised in Trenton, NJ. After graduating from Steinert High School, he enlisted in the US Navy. After his service he became a paramedic in Camden, NJ. He later began a long career as a piano tuner, technician and rebuilder along with opening a martial arts school and co-founding the World Hapkido Alliance.
He moved to Dallas, TX in 1998 with his wife and two of his sons. He continued his career as a piano technician and leveraged his experience in the Navy Band to play bass trombone with various local Dallas groups.
The family will have a private memorial ceremony at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that any donations in memory of Alan be made to www.sepsisalliance.org.
