Doris moved next door to us in 1961 on Carlisle Avenue. We were best friends for a long time and then parted later. Her mom and my mom were always outside talking under the trees smoking cigarettes, back then women did not work outside the home much. Doris was very loving, had a great sense of humor and was very smart. My little brother Charles adored her. She was good with children. Our dolls were Tammy and Pepper by Ideal(we hated Barbie, she was too stuck up) and we had the matching blue convertables for the dolls. /We even had matching dogs which we would run in the woods behind our house!
