HAMILTON — Patrick W. “Sonny” Bransfield Sr., 54, of Hamilton Twp., died Friday, Feb. 13, 2009, at home.

Born in Trenton, Mr. Bransfield was a lifelong Trenton and Hamilton resident. He retired in 1997 after 18 years of service as a corrections officer with the State of New Jersey, Department of Corrections at the Garden State Youth Facility in Yardville. After retirement, Sonny devoted many hours to his grandchildren traveling to various area parks, especially to Columbus Park.

Brother of the late Patricia A. Klek, he is survived by his daughter, Melissa A. Bransfield of Hamilton and her fiancé Carl D. Mingo; two sons, Patrick W. Bransfield Jr. and Sean J. Bransfield, both of Dover, Del.; six grandchildren, Justin, Tyler, Christian, Deasia, Jace and Carlissa; his mother, Dorothy M. Kalman Klek of Hamilton; his sister and brother-in-law, Susan and Edwin Diaz of Collingswood; his soulmate, Cindy L. Bransfield of Butler, Pa.; as well as several aunts, uncles and cousins.
